VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP 2020
Mia Cake House Summer Camp is going Virtual.
SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN
Our camp offers real social interaction using an online video conferencing platform, therefore spots are limited.
The supplies and tools needed to participate in the camp are included and are available for pick up or shipping.
All campers that are already signed up for our 2020 Summer Camp Program have priority in registering for our Virtual program.
Camp platform is kids friendly, easy to access, and navigate.
Our virtual summer camp is not like any other summer camp your child has ever gone to.
If your child loves to bake, wants to help you when you’re in the kitchen, and sees all the cake decorating shows on TV, our camp is the perfect fit.
Our more than 10 years of experience in teaching children how to bake and decorate makes us a leading camp in the art of cake decorating.
During the years we have developed unique tools and teaching techniques that allow the children to replicate amazing pieces of edible art.
Camp instructors are recognized cake artists with thousands of teaching hours that have created unique and original projects for this camp.
Two different sessions are available to choose from (In each session we will decorate cupcakes, cookies, cake, and French macarons)
Session A is Food Illusions.
Session B is Under the Sea.
Campers can sign up for one or two sessions.
Every Friday kids will participate in our famous Cupcakes Warz competition where they will use their new skills in creating their own cupcake shop and make their own cupcake sets. (Friends/siblings are welcomed to be in the same team)
Camp hours are 12pm-4pm ET / 9am-1pm PT, allowing the children to have lunch before camp starts.
Children will have to prepare before and after camp screen time for the next class activities, bake pastries, practice with fondant, prepare the tools and supplies, etc.
How does our virtual camp work?
Our virtual summer camp is designed to encourage your child to learn, create and practice the art of cake decorating in their own safe environment.
We will provide the tools, fondant, icing, and all the edibles needed for an entire week of camp. (Not Including baking supplies, pans or KitchenAid Mixer…)
For pastry baking, we offer two options.
1. Bake at your own pace. Share the experience with the entire family following our Video tutorials and recipes with detailed step by step instructions. Recipes will be posted on the camp website a week before camp starts, so there is plenty of time. Adult supervision is required for this activity. If you prefer you can use your favorite recipe. Totally up to you.
2. For LOCAL campers Get Mia Cake House pastries (only local pickup option available). If baking takes you out of your comfort zone or you are to busy to spend time in the kitchen and clean up the mess, we are here for you. We will have the pastries ready for you to pick up.
Camp site will have all the information on how to prepare for camp, how to set up the table for each project, and practice videos, so the campers can practice on how to work with fondant ahead of the class.
Access to the virtual summer camp area will be secured and campers will be invited into the class once their identity has been verified (This is to avoid “zoombombing”). If campers are divided into “rooms” they will be supervised by Mia Cake House’s staff.
The art of cake decorating requires special tools and supplies. In an effort to make the camp more affordable, we offer a complete set of tools that are needed for each session. The tools are property of Mia Cake House and a $50 refundable deposit (for 1 session) or $70 refundable deposit (for 2 sessions) is charged upon registration. The deposit will be reimbursed once the tools are returned (Camper is responsible for shipping costs, conditions apply)
You can pick up tools and supplies for the virtual summer camp from our stores, free of charge, on Thursday or Friday before your session starts.
We also offer shipping options anywhere in the continental USA. Shipping fee starts $20 for 1 session.
